1996-97: 4 starts and 5 subs appearance…of which 4 league (all subs).
Was the final member of a Scot’s trio signed by John Hewitt in July 1998 that included goalkeeper Les Fridge and Ian Nisbet. He had played for Scotland at Schoolboy and Youth level.
Before coming to Oriel Park he had spent a couple of years with Rangers without any first team action and then a season with Clyde in the Scottish Division 2 where he had 4 starts and 12 substitute appearances. Significantly all his Dundalk starts were in the minor competitions.
Back in Scotland he joined East Sterling in the Scottish League Div 3 and things improved significantly when over a three season spell he made 72 appearances and scored 12 times. In 1999-00 he contributed his share to a second place and promotion to Div 2.
However his ninth and last Scottish league activity, with Queen’s Park in 2001/02, saw him again on the slippery slope as QP finished last in the third division—Paul made 9 starts and 5 subs from 36 league games.
