|Date Of Birth:||1899|
|Place Of Birth:||Lisburn|
|Debut:||21-Aug-26, League, (A) v. Fordsons|
Constant team changes were the norm in Dundalk’s first Free State League season and just about the only constant factor was the appearance of Fred Norwood wearing the no. 6 shirt. Coming from the Belfast Intermediate club Willowfield after being with Glenavon, he was an ever present during the League campaign and missed only two games all season.
The arrival of ex-International left-half back Billy Emerson in October 1927 finally saw Fred assigned to other duties and he alternated between right half and inside right for the latter half of his second season. Late in the season he returned to Glenavon. His brother Bob played for many years at half back with Belfast Celtic.
